Recently came across some situations that can give a bad idea of the 12 step help group spirit. Having said this, it is also important to remember that people make groups , eventhough the group has an influence on the individual... Recaling the first tradition, where we came across the important concept that individual recovery depends on the group unity, every individual is responsable (or not) to practice the principles of the steps. At the end of the day, each one knows what it is being done (or not) ...

December 9 - "Living a Clean Life"

"When we talk about being clean and sober , we are not talking about any kind of trance, ectasy or high. We are not talking about the aloof, alienated thinker who withdraws from society. Nor are we talking about the rigid , unbending one who screams for temperance. The sobriety and cleanness we are talking about is living today well.

We enjoy our children and friends, live life to the fullest and are engaged in many activities. Some of us are great lovers, husbands, wives or leaders. We all at times, suffer anguish and doubt. No we are not drawn away from life, but to it. Am I living today well?

Lord let my love of the world shine forth from the irresistible burning love of God.

My plan for living today well is:

God help me to stay clean and sober today!"

A Choice of Words (important ones...). GOD versus GOOD

When/if having difficulties believing in God, it would be important making an effort believing in GOOD. Most of the people that refuse to believe in God, most of the times, tend to think about established ideas of the concept. It is possible to create ones particular concept (God concept) that suits us best.

Step 3 ...
